ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — More than 175 strong turned out for the 13th Annual Strides for Health 5K held at Allegan General Hospital, Saturday, August 17, 2019.
Events included a 5K run/walk and one-mile kids fun run.
Neal White (Wayland, MI) took first place as the overall male winner with a time 16:34. Drew Meinecke (Royal Oak, MI), came in second at 16:51, was the second overall male winner. The third overall male winner was Blane Johnson (Allegan, MI), who crossed the finish line at 17:06. John Brady (Mattawan, MI) was the overall male masters’ winner with a time of 20:15.
Kate Meinecke (Royal Oak, MI) was the overall female winner for the third year in a row with a time of 20:37. Paula Chalupa (Otsego, MI) was the second overall female winner with a time of 22:19. The third overall female winner was Sara Djerf (Otsego, MI). Sara crossed the finish line at 23:52. The overall female masters’ winner was Charity Vanderlaan (Holland, MI) with a time of 24:43.

Strides for Health 5K Run/Walk is put on by the Allegan General Hospital Foundation, Allegan Public Schools’ Sideline Cheer, and Allegan Public Schools’ Women’s Swimming and Diving Program.
