GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The crowded field of Republican candidates vying for one if two U.S. Senate seats from Michigan has narrowed by one.
Peter Meijer Friday announced he is dropping out of the race.
The former Congressman from Grand Rapids announced in November he’d run for the open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, a seat that’s been held by Sen. Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat who is retiring, for more than two decades.
Fellow former congressman Mike Rogers appears to be the frontrunner for the Republican nomination, and would likely face congresswoman Elise Slotkin in November.
