LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Although many state legislative leaders are at the Mackinac Policy Conference on Mackinac Island this week, some have stayed behind in Lansing to deal with the Fiscal 2016 state budget. The most contentious bill which moved onto the House floor was part of the Community Health spending plan that contained language blocking state dollars for organizations providing elective abortions or abortion counseling. Lawmakers hope to have a complete budget ready for the Governor next week.
