MASON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Alcohol may have been a factor in a chain reaction crash that injured two people in Cass County.
It happened around 9 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Redfield Street and Cassopolis Road near Old M205 in Mason Township.
65-year-old William Thorley of Cassopolis was traveling southbound when 32-year-old Matthew Degraff from Union crossed the centerline and struck Thorley.
Thorley was then pushed into another vehicle which was stopped at the intersection.
That vehicle was driven by 64-year-old Elkhart resident Rickey Secor and passenger 64-year-old Elkhart resident Janice Secor.
Both drivers in the head-on collision were taken to the hospital for injuries but their current conditions have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation, but authorities believe alcohol may have been involved.
