Week 3 MAC Football Rankings. Sorry, these rankings are late, forgive me, readers.
- Western Michigan University (LW 2) – For two weeks the Broncos have been second on my rankings, but they destroyed Georgia State 57 – 10. (Key stat. L. Bellamy 192 yards, 3 touchdowns S. Tyler 6 carries 138 yards, 2 touchdowns)
- Eastern Michigan University (LW 7) – Huge win over Illinois! That's three wins against the Big Ten in the last three years. (Key stat. M. Glass III 316 yards, 3 touchdowns)
- Toledo (LW 10) – Jumping up seven spots this week, the Golden Rockets beat FCS Morgan State 45 to nothing, convincing win they move up because their foot stayed on the gas pedal. (Key stat. M. Guadagni 266 yards, 2 touchdowns)
- Northern Illinois (LW 1) – The Wolfpack or whatever dropped three spots because they got blown out by Nebraska. Next week they got Vanderbilt for their last out of conference game. (Key stat. 1 safety, J. Richardson 2/2 45 yard field goal)
- Ball State (LW 5) – The Cardinals had the lead after the first quarter, but turnovers cost them the game again FAU. (Key stat. D. Plitt 303 yards, and 3 touchdowns)
- Buffalo (LW 3) – The Bulls played a tremendous first half against Penn State but struggled against Liberty, and that kind of shaky performance should put them lower on these rankings, but that week two performance is still vivid in my mind. (Key stat. M. Myers 162 passing yards, and 2 touchdowns)
- Miami Of Ohio (LW 6 ) – The Battle for Ohio! Didn't go well for the Redhawks as they lost 35 – 13 to Cincinnati. (Key stat. S. Sloman 2/2 41 yard field goal, 1 extra point)
- Ohio (LW 4) – The Bobcats have one win on the season and two losses to quality teams, that resume could move them up, but I expected a little more from them this early in the season. (Key stat. N. Rourke 118 rushing yards, 1 touchdown)
- Central Michigan University (LW 11) – Oh the Chippewas move up because they beat up on a bottom feeder and I love when teams put their foot on the necks of an opponent. (Key stat. 533 total yards)
- Bowling Green (LW 8) – Struggling on offense, they did score 7 points against Louisiana Tech though. (Key stat.
- Kent State (LW 9) – I usually don't punish teams for losing to a top-ranked team, but Kent State gave up so many yards to Auburn. (Key stat. 619 total yards given up to Auburn)
- Akron (LW 12) – The Zips put up 24 points on the Chippewas, but they're still 0-3. (Key stat. The Zips put up 24 points)
