PARK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An 18-year-old motorcyclist from Three Rivers is still recovering from injuries following a crash that happened during a police pursuit Friday night.
St. Joseph County Sheriff’s deputies say the chase began on M-216 near U.S. 131 in Park Township after they had attempted to stop the motorcycle for a speeding violation. A chase began and was called off briefly after deputies lost sight of the bike. A second pursuit began when the motorcycle came back toward police cruisers from the other direction at over 100 mph.
The driver eventually veered into a ditch and struck a traffic control device. They were transported to the Three Rivers Hospital for injuries and face several charges. The name and gender of the suspect have not been released.
