KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It has been quite a school year for the Class of 2021. Friday is the last day of school for seniors at Kalamazoo Public Schools after a school year no one will forget, due to the pandemic.
School Board President Patti Sholler-Barber says it’s been a learning experience of a different kind for everyone involved. It’s the first senior class in history to have spent their entire year in virtual learning because of the pandemic, with all the missed social opportunities.
Graduation ceremonies are set for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at the various schools in the district. All the other students have two more weeks to go before summer vacation begins.
Seniors at Portage Northern graduated on Wednesday. Graduation ceremonies for Portage Central High School will be this weekend.
