KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Fire crews in Kalamazoo spent much of the overnight and into Wednesday morning working to put out a blaze at a home.
WWMT reports that the call came in at around 2:00 a.m. for a house fire in the 800 block of South Street. The home is divided into multiple apartments and there was only one resident home at the time of the fire. Fire officials say that person made it out safely.
Authorities asked drivers to avoid W. South Street, from W. Michigan Ave. to Oak street during the morning commute. Investigators say the fire is not considered suspicious but are still determining the cause.
