BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A garage fire caused by a vehicle was quickly put out by Battle Creek firefighters Saturday evening.
Crews responded at 7:40 to 298 Hamblin Avenue and found thick black smoke coming from a single story commercial building.
A K-12 Fire Saw was used to remove two garage doors to gain access to the fire determined to be coming from an F-350 contractor van.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by an accidental ignition of a fuel tank being removed from the vehicle.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
