KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 16-year-old girl is now in the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home after another threat was made against Loy Norrix High School.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were made aware of the social media message Tuesday evening and worked through the night to identify the suspect.
They executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of Vanzee Avenue on the city’s Southside where they located and seized several electronic devices believed to been used in the threats.
No weapons were located, and it appears that the threat was not credible.
The teen was taken into custody on a charge of making a terrorist threat.
This comes after a 14-year-old Kalamazoo resident was also arrested in connection to the Loy Norrix threats.
The threat spawned a number of copycat threats in Parchment and Portage and authorities are still investigating.
Anyone with information regarding the threats can contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8120 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
