LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — If the results from a new Target Insyght poll conducted for MIRS News are correct, two local house seats could flip from red to blue this fall.
Right now the poll shows that Democratic challenger Alberta Griffin is leading Republican Incumbent Brandt Iden by 9 points….52 to 43%.
The breakdown in the 61st District shows Griffin leading Iden nearly two to one among independents and among women in Portage and Kalamazoo’s Southwestern Townships.
In the wide open 63rd district which includes Battle Creek and the northern Calhoun County Townships, Democrat Jim Haadsma is up 54 to 38% over Republican Dave Morgan.
Once again independents are swinging by two to one to Haadsma.
The current occupant of the seat, John Bizon is running for the State Senate.
They polled 300-likely voters in each district with a margin of error of plus or minus 5.7%.
