KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency superintendent Dr. Dedrick Martin has been named the Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators 2026 Region VII Superintendent of the Year.
He joined KRESA in July 2023 and under his leadership, the agency has continued expanding opportunities for students and strengthen support for local school districts.
That includes the completion and opening of the KRESA Career Connect Campus near Wings Event Center that serves around 1,400 students in career and technical education every year.
In addition, Dr. Martin has brought an increased focus to the quality of math instruction, working alongside superintendents and instructional leaders across the county to support ongoing improvement in student learning outcomes.
Region VII includes the public school and intermediate school districts in Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties. The award was presented as a surprise during the Region VII superintendents meeting earlier this month.
