MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Opponents of Ford Motor Company’s planned BlueOval Battery Plant in Marshall are planning to appeal a Michigan Court of Appeals decision to the Michigan Supreme Court.
The Committee for Marshall – Not the Megasite says they want the Supreme Court to reconsider the Court of Appeals’ rejection of an argument that aimed to stop construction on the electric vehicle battery factory.
Marshall Mayor Scott Wolfersberger says the ruling by the Court of Appeals was a relief and it was the fourth time the courts have ruled in the city’s favor on the topics with the EV battery plant.
Construction has been underway since 2023, and the plant is expected to be open at some point this year.
