BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek Police Department has received $200,000 from the state to start an semiautonomous drone service.
The money comes from the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification.
The department says ORION-X will be a “drone-as-first-responder program.”
It is being operated by a New York company called ResilienX at the Battle Creek Executive Airport.
