BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A suspect is in custody after a 23-year-old man was shot in his left thigh last Tuesday morning while he was walking near the intersection of Cliff Street and Nelson Street.
The victim reported a red Chevrolet pulled up, and the driver shot him before fleeing south on Nelson.
The Battle Creek Police Department’s Gang Suppression Unit and Special Investigations Unit investigated the shooting which led to the arrest of a Battle Creek man in his 20s last Wednesday night.
The suspect was being held at the Calhoun County Jail on multiple felony charges, including weapon and assault offenses.
The shooting victim was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
