UPDATE: The alleged kidnapper was arrested Sunday in Holland, the FBI said.
ORIGINAL STORY: HOLLAND (WKZO-AM) — The FBI is leading the search for a black, heavy-set male who violently assaulted a suburban Chicago woman in her home early Friday, then kidnapped her using her own car.
Investigators say he drove the woman to Munster, Ind., where he was photographed trying to use the woman’s ATM card.
He was wearing a stocking to try and conceal his identity.
Their next stop was Burns Harbor in Northern Indiana, where the 53-year-old woman managed to escape despite reported injuries.
Police found her and the search began for her attacker and her blue Chevrolet sedan. It was found parked in the parking lot at the Bay Pointe Apartments in Holland.
FBI agents and police officers went through the place door-to-door but did not find the suspect. The current condition of his female victim was not released.
