KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Today will be the last day the city of Kalamazoo will be providing response services to victims of flooding, as the declaration of emergency is set to expire today, and won’t be extended.
In the last week, city crews have removed about 193,000 gallons of water from yards, basements and other low-lying areas.
They have completed 56 assessment surveys and delivered 31 flood cleanup kits to homes.
Multiple pallets of sandbags were also distributed from three locations in the city.
City staff will continue to do damage assessments, share cleanup guidance and assistance, monitoring water levels, and prepare and provide cleanup kits.
