UNDATED, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Fast food chain Chick-Fil-A has announced that it will no longer be making donations to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Both of these organizations have been criticized in the past by LGBTQ supporters, which has led to criticism against Chick-Fil-A.
These donation practices also led to controversy in Kalamazoo around plans to open a new location at West Main and Drake.
The chain will now make donations exclusively to organizations that help with education, homelessness, and hunger.
The chain also says that each new location opened will include a $25,000 donation to a local food bank.
Officials of the chain say that the company had made obligations to donate to these organizations, but fulfilled them last year.
