KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man who made off with thousands in cash from a bank in Kalamazoo last year has pleaded guilty to armed robbery.
After reaching an agreement with prosecutors, Kevin Turner pleaded guilty to bank robbery by force on Monday, February 3rd. Two other counts of bank robbery were dropped in exchange for the plea made by Turner before a judge.
Both Kevin and his brother Draper Turner were arrested following a robbery at Old National Bank on Portage Road in Kalamazooo that took place on March 25th, 2019.
Draper was previously sentenced to 51 months in prison last November after pleading guilty in U.S. Western District Court.
Kevin Turner is also connected to two other armed bank robberies in both Benton Harbor and Wyoming.
He will be sentenced on May 21.
The news of Kevin’s sentencing comes after the capture of another recent bank robber in Kalamazoo.
