MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Calhoun County Circuit Court judge has ruled against a lawsuit filed to stop the Ford Motor Company battery plant under construction in Marshall.
Judge William Marietti issued a motion for summary disposition in favor of the defendants in the case. The ruling said the rezoning by the city was handled properly so voters won’t have a chance to stop it with a referendum.
The complaint, filed by the ‘Committee for Marshall not the Megasite,’ tried to reverse the re-zoning that made farm lane available for the site, which is now slated to become Ford Motor Company’s BlueOval Battery Plant.
The defendants include the city of Marshall and the Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance, which joined the lawsuit in July.
