EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State football will open the 2023 season on Friday, Sept. 1 vs. Central Michigan, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. All classes will be held as scheduled that day and operational work will continue with limited disruption on campus, according to MSU.
However, the school says some donor lots near Spartan Stadium will be closed for students and faculty beginning Thursday night:
“The following parking lots will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 31, through 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at which point the appropriate event parking pass will be required:
- Lot 62 located on the north side of the IM Sports West and Spartan Stadium
- Lot 124 located on the north side of the IM Sports West and Spartan Stadium
- Lot 61 located on the west side of Spartan Stadium
- Lot 79 located on the south side of Spartan Stadium
In addition, the school is asking faculty and staff to conclude their work activities early on Friday and begin leaving campus by 1:00 p.m. if possible.
“All faculty and staff with cars are encouraged to begin leaving campus by 1:00 p.m. Therefore, supervisors are being asked to determine the operational needs of their individual units and, where possible, use flexible schedules arranged throughout the course of the week so that staff may leave campus by that time.”
