KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – NFL Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champion Jerome Bettis will be the keynote speaker at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Michigan’s 47th Annual Benefit Dinner in June.
The benefit accounts for approximately 30% of the agency’s annual budget, and will be held Monday, June 3 at The Stone Theater, Radisson Plaza Hotel at the Kalamazoo Center.
Organizers say the 47th annual event will include a cocktail and hors d’oeuvre reception, a gourmet dinner, the opportunity to bid on silent and live auctions, raffles, and Bettis’ address.
“Our annual Benefit Dinner helps make it possible for us to achieve our mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth,” says Amy Kuchta, Chief Executive Officer.
“Each year, hundreds of guests and nearly 100 corporate sponsors come together to support Big Brothers Big Sisters and to hear from some of the nation’s leading sports figures. This year, we are honored to welcome Jerome Bettis,” Kuchta says.
One of the most notable running backs in NFL history, Bettis spent the first three seasons of his career with the Rams (1993-95) before spending 10 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1996-2005).
