LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Public Service Commission has released a report on how the state’s utilities can continue to move away from traditional power generating resources such as coal and toward renewable resources such as wind and solar.
The Grid Integration Study Report details how Michigan’s energy grid will be modified to allow renewable energy sources to meet the needs of the state’s residents.
A spokesperson for the MPSC said that, while products such as coal are located centrally, renewable energy is more crowdsourced, and that fact will result in major changes in how energy is created and sent to customers.
