LANSING, MI — Lansing police say the body of two-year-old Wynter Cole Smith has been found near the Coleman A. Young International Airport in Detroit three days after she was abducted. Police found the child while conducting a search from Interstate 94 north on Van Dyke on Wednesday evening.
New charges are expected to be filed against Rashad Trice, her mother’s ex-boyfriend, who is already charged with attempted murder for stabbing the 22-year-old woman at her home in Lansing Sunday. The man, according to police, took the two-year-old with him when he fled and stole the mother’s car.
Trice was arrested Monday north of Detroit and was denied bond in an Ingham County hearing.
