STATE COLLEGE, PA (WKZO AM/FM) – The road woes for the University of Michigan men’s basketball team continue after an 83-61 setback at Penn State yesterday.
Jett Howard poured in 21 points to lead the Wolverines, who have lost five straight away from home.
U of M is now 11-and-10 on the season and 5-and-5 in Big Ten play. The Wolverines visit Northwestern Thursday.
Michigan State University couldn’t keep up with top-ranked Purdue, falling to the Boilermakers 77-61 in West Lafayette Sunday.
A.J. Hoggard netted 20 points to pace the Spartans, who slipped to 14-and-8 including 6-and-5 in Big Ten action.
MSU is now off until taking on Rutgers Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.
In other college basketball action Sunday, Detroit Mercy lost 73-63 at Youngstown State. The Titans are back in action Thursday hosting Cleveland State.
Tomorrow, Eastern Michigan hosts Ohio, Central Michigan visits Kent State, Western Michigan hosts Northern Illinois.
