BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are investigating after the Pennfield School district went into lockdown for the second day in a row on Thursday, October 13.
According to Superintendent Stephanie Lemmer, the district went into a 14-minute lockdown on Wednesday, October 12 for an unknown cause. The second lockdown occurring on Thursday for 1 1/2 hours after a Pennfield High School student was overheard threatening to shoot up the school, according to Calhoun County spokesperson Lucy Blair.
So far, deputies have found no credible threats and say there is none to the school or public at this time.
Both incidents remain under investigation by law enforcement and the school district’s administration.
