BALTIMORE TOWNHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An elderly man from Hastings was killed Wednesday afternoon, after his car was struck broadside at the intersection of Charlton Park Road and Lawrence Road in Barry County’s Baltimore Township.
The preliminary investigation revealed a westbound Ford F-550 ran a stop sign and collided with a southbound Buick Lacrosse.
The driver of the Buick was identified as an 88-year old male from Hastings. Lifesaving efforts were performed, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up was identified as a 38-year-old male from Galesburg. He was transported via ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash, which happened Wednesday around 5:30 p.m., remains under investigation. Names have not been released by the Barry County Sheriff’s Office.
