CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County deputies responded to a crash on Tuesday, April 25, where a Dowagiac man was taken to the hospital after being ejected from his vehicle.
It happened around 10 a.m. on Sister Lakes Road, near Haley Road in Silver Creek Township.
A 51-year-old Dowagiac resident, Garrett Marquart, was southbound on Sister Lakes Road when he left the roadway and overturned ejecting Marquart from the vehicle.
Marquart was transported to Lakeland Hospital in St Joseph for treatment of injuries and was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the accident.
Authorities say that drugs and/or alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
Assisting were Sister Lakes Fire Department, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, and Pride Care Ambulance service.
