DETROIT, MI (WKZO-AM/FM) Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera had to wait at least one more day for his attempt at the record books. The Tigers were set to play the Colorado Rockies Friday night in Detroit, but it was postponed due to rain.
Cabrera is one hit shy of three-thousand hits in his career. Once reached, he would join a club that is home to a number of MLB Hall of Famers like Hank Aaron, Derek Jeter and Cal Ripken, Jr.
The Tigers and Rockies will play a split doubleheader this afternoon and evening, with yesterday’s game being made up tonight at 6:40 p.m.
