BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Battle Creek Lakeview Board of Education voted on Tuesday night to offer Doctor William Patterson the position of Superintendent.
According to a post on the district’s Facebook page, board members cited Patterson’s focus on students, collaborative leadership style and use of data and relationship building to create common goals as reasons for his selection.
Patterson is the current assistant superintendent for secondary instruction at Jackson Public Schools.
Board of Education President Eric Greene says, “Dr. Patterson is a student focused, collaborative leader who brings the experience needed for a seamless transition in the superintendency”.
Patterson was one of five finalists for the job. He will begin his new duties in July.
