KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – No injuries are reported after shots were fired into an two apartments in the 1000 block of Interfaith Avenue in Kalamazoo Sunday afternoon.
Around 12:10 p.m. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the report of shots fired. First arriving officers spoke with a woman who reported that somebody had fired a gunshot into her apartment. Although the apartment was occupied at the time, nobody was injured.
Public Safety officers also located bullet holes in a neighboring apartment. They forced their way into the apartment to check on the residents. Nobody was located inside that apartment.
Public Safety officers later contacted the residents of the second apartment, who said they had been inside the apartment when it was struck by the gunfire and had fled the home.
KDPS officials say as of this time, a suspect has not been identified or located.
