LANSING, MI — An Ingham County teacher known for going above and beyond to keep his students motivated has been recognized with an Excellence in Education award from the Michigan Lottery.
Jeffrey Boyer is a third grade teacher at Forest View Elementary School in Lansing. The school is part of the Lansing School District. Boyer created a YouTube channel during the pandemic to help connect with his students in a virtual setting, according to a Michigan Lottery press release.
Winners of the weekly award receive a $1,500 cash prize and a $500 grant for their classroom. All weekly winners are then eligible for the Educator of the Year annual award and the $10,000 cash prize that comes with it.
