KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE – A suspect accused in a recent Kalamazoo burglary and shooting has been identified, according to an update from MLive Tuesday.
Previously, police were called to the 900 block of Staples Avenue on Sunday for a report of a burglary. While officers were on the way, the occupant reported that he had been shot.
Upon arrival, the victim was provided medical care and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was later found and arrested after a foot pursuit.
According to the update Tuesday, the suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Danielle Louise Pillars. She was arraigned on a total of seven felony counts:
- Two counts of obstructing, resisting a police officer
- One count of assault with intent to murder
- One count of breaking and entering
- One count of larceny of firearm
- One count of felony firearm
- One count of carrying a concealed weapon
At this time, Pillars remains in custody. She will be in court again on January 5.
