The latest report shows October to have been a strong month for U.S. red meat exports.
Last year proved to be a record for pork sales in October though 2021 fell short of that pace. However the year-to-date picture shows pork slightly ahead of 2020. Beef export volume came in at 115,700 metric tons as the value of exports climbed 48 percent. The year up to and including the report has shown 17% growth in beef exports in key markets like South Korea, Japan and China/Hong Kong.
As has been the case with several recent surveys, ’21 is proving a surprisingly strong in terms of production and sales for the agricultural sector.
