KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to mourn the loss of Deputy Eric West, who passed away suddenly this week from a medical condition.
Sheriff Richard Fuller spoke with us on Wednesday morning about Deputy West.
“This gentlemen worked hard for law enforcement for the last 27, 28 years, and the last four years with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, so we are saddened by the loss of Eric,” Sheriff Fuller said. “We’re gonna do what we can to help honor him and his memory.”
West previously served as the Police Chief in Vicksburg, as well as an officer in Schoolcraft and Decatur.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
The passing of Deputy West comes about two months after the passing of Deputy Ryan Proxmire, who was killed in the line of duty last August.
