LANSING, MI — A former Ingham County Circuit Court Judge who served more that 40 years on the bench has been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, according to a report from our media partner Six News WLNS-TV in Lansing.
William Collette is accused of pulling a woman’s ponytail at Dusty’s Cellar in Meridian Township in late May. Collette was arraigned earlier this week in 55th District Court in Mason.
Collette was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond on Monday. He was asked by the judge if he knew the alleged victim, to which he replied, “I have no idea who this person even is.”
Collette will next appear in court on August 31 for a pre-trial hearing.
