COMSTOCK PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — For three straight games, the West Michigan Whitecaps have had a hard time getting their bats going. It resulted in a 4-1 loss to the Dayton Dragons Wednesday evening.
The Whitecaps left several players in scoring position in six out of nine innings, only managing one score. Whitecaps starter Adam Wolf retired the first eight Dragons he faced before giving up a two-run home run in the 3rd, giving Dayton a 2-0 lead which was all they would need.
The Whitecaps and Dragons play the third game of a six-game series Thursday at 7:05 pm. West Michigan sends pitcher Sandel De La Cruz to the hill against Dragons pitcher Carson Spiers.
