DETROIT, MI — Ex-Michigan State University basketball star Keith Appling is now charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing 66-year-old Clyde Edmonds on May 22nd.
Edmonds’ wife is a cousin of Appling’s mother according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. The suspect and victim are accused of having an argument over a gun that ended with Edmonds being shot several times.
Appling’s girlfriend, 28-year-old Natalie Banister of Jackson, is also facing charges. She is accused of driving Appling from the scene of the alleged murder and then lying to police about it.
