COLUMBUS, OH (WKZO AM/FM) – In men’s college basketball Sunday, Hunter Dickinson scored 22 points as third-ranked University of Michigan held off number four Ohio State University 92-87 in Columbus. Ohio State fell for the first time in seven games.
The teams battered each other back and forth until the end. Isaiah Livers converted a costly Buckeye turnover into an old-fashioned three point play which gave Michigan a six point lead and enough breathing room in the final minutes. The Wolverines sealed the win at the foul line by hitting eight of their final ten attempts.
Duane Washington Jr. scored a career-high 30-points for the Buckeyes, who also got 23-points from E.J. Liddell.
Eli Brooks added 17 points as the Wolverines won their fifth in a row. Michigan is 16-and-1 and will welcome 14th-ranked Iowa to Ann Arbor Thursday.
Elsewhere in college hoops, Michigan State University won 78-71 Saturday at Indiana. MSU snapped a two-game skid to improve to 11-and-9.
The Spartans host fifth-ranked Illinois tomorrow.
