KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The second armed carjacking in a week happened in Kalamazoo Thursday evening.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 500 block of Harding Place on the report of a subject who was robbed of their property and vehicle at gun point.
The victim reported to officers that they had made arrangements on social media to meet up with an unknown person to purchase a gaming device that was advertised for sale.
When the victim arrived in the suggested meeting area they were approached by several people, one of which had a handgun pointed at them. The suspects then demanded money and possession of the victim’s vehicle.
The suspects involved fled the area in the victim’s vehicle and have not been located. No suspect information is available currently.

Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Lt. Charles Treppa says those utilizing social media such as Facebook, Let it Go, Craigslist, Snap Chat and the like to exercise caution when considering to give out personal information, arranging to meet unknown individuals, or exchange money for goods and services.
