SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit is reporting that one man has been arrested on drug charges after an investigation and sting operation.
Over the last several months, police had conducted an investigation of illegal narcotics sales taking place in the 300 Block of Spencer Street in South Haven. During this process, detectives were able to make several controlled buys of crack cocaine in the area.
A search warrant was obtained and executed on Thursday, October 8. Detectives were greeted at the door by 41-year-old William Sledge, identified as the suspect in this case. After securing Sledge, detectives located two additional males and a female at the residence.
Those individuals were not part of the investigation in this case.
Detectives searched and located cocaine, packaging materials and additional items linked to the sale of narcotics. Sledge was lodged at the Van Buren County jail for Possession of Cocaine, and additional charges are being sought for Delivery of Cocaine.
