KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An investigation is underway after a fatal shooting on Kalamazoo’s Northside early Friday morning.
Public Safety officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of North Church Street near West Prouty Street around 1 a.m. after multiple gunshots were fired into a home.
Authorities made contact at the home and located a 54-year-old Kalamazoo resident suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Live-saving efforts were attempted, but the victim was later pronounced dead.
WOOD-TV says authorities were still on scene until about 5 a.m.
Very little details have been released and no suspect information is available as of yet.
This comes just days after another fatal shooting occurred on West Frank Street near North Burdick Street Tuesday night. It’s unclear if the two shootings are connected.
