KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners is accepting letters of intent until Friday for their vacant District 2 seat.
Commissioner Paul Haag resigned suddenly earlier this month after more questions surfaced about if he actually lived inside the district which covers the Milwood, Edison and Southside neighborhoods.
At Tuesday night’s meeting they accepted Haag’s resignation and formally explained how the search process will go.
The board will hold a special meeting next Tuesday to select candidates, interviews will be held the following Tuesday on October 1st and then the next commissioner will be chosen at that meeting.
This is the same selection process they used to fill Commissioner Ron Kendall’s seat who also resigned suddenly a month before Haag.
Qualified applicants can email their letters of intent to Administrative Assistant Dina Sutton at dpsutt@kalcounty.com.
