ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: Police in Allegan County have provided an update to the situation regarding the suspicious character.
“The operator of the suspicious van came to the sheriff’s office this afternoon. After speaking with him and other witnesses in the van, it appears that there was a new bus driver for the route in the area. The bus driver was behind the normal pickup schedule and the operator of the van was letting the children know. The investigation has revealed that there is no threat to anyone in the area regarding the suspicious activity.”

Police in Allegan County are searching for a suspicious individual who approached students at a bus stop Monday.
Police say that around 7 a.m., the suspect walked up to a large group of students who were at a bus stop near the 2700 block of 113th in Allegan Township.
He asked the kids if any of them needed a ride, but left when the school bus pulled up to the stop.
The suspect is described as a mid-30’s white male with a blond-ish goatee who was wearing a white baseball cap. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored minivan.
