KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is facing multiple gun and drug charges after a short police foot chase in the city’s West Douglas Neighborhood.
Public Safety officers were called to the Fox Ridge Apartments off of Alamo Avenue around 8 p.m. Thursday for reports of a disturbance and located a man with a semi-automatic firearm in his waistband.
The suspect dropped the gun and attempted to flee on foot into the building but he was arrested after a brief struggle.
Officers realized the gun was stolen out of Kalamazoo County and the man had a dealer amount of cocaine on him.
The 27-year-old suspect was booked into the County Jail for charges of carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, resisting and obstruction, and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
