EMMET TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Emmett Township have arrested one suspect in connection to a Best Buy robbery.
Around 7:15 Monday morning, Police responded to a robbery in progress at the Best Buy located on Harper Village Drive.
Two suspects had broken into the store before it opened and were looting electronic devices on display. Employees were able to provide descriptions from a safe distance away.
The suspects fled on foot into a nearby wooded area, where a K-9 tracking unit was unsuccessful in finding them.
Hours later, one suspect was seen walking in the area, where he was identified and arrested.
Several of the stolen Best Buy items were recovered, which are estimated to be worth about $10,000 in total.
The suspect arrested is described as a 22-year-old male from the Grand Rapids area. He is currently being held at the Calhoun County Jail on charges of Larceny from a Building and Breaking and Entering.
The other suspect has not been identified or located. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
