KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One person is dead and another is in serious condition after a head-on crash in Kalamazoo Township.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3900 block of Ravine Road near Nichols Road.
Kalamazoo Township Police say one vehicle was traveling westbound on Ravine when they crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming eastbound vehicle.
The at-fault driver and their passengers were not wearing seatbelts and were both ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was rushed to the hospital in serious condition and the passenger, 51-year-old Jacqueline Reed of Kalamazoo, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two occupants in the eastbound vehicle had to be pried out of the wreck. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The intersection was shut down for several hours as crews cleared the scene. It was reopened around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
