LAWTON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a meth bust in Lawton lead to the arrest of an unknown amount of suspects Saturday night.
Around 11 p.m., deputies were called to the 66000 block of 26th Street in Lawton for a report of a woman screaming in the backyard of a residence.
When deputies arrived they saw the occupants smoking what appeared to be methamphetamine from a glass pipe and passing it from person to person. Deputies, along with the assistance of Officers from Mattawan and Lawton Police Departments, secured the residence and property while a search warrant was obtained.
Deputies obtained and executed the search warrant and found several meth pipes, a large amount of methamphetamine paraphernalia, and methamphetamine product.
According to an official press release, the investigation will be turned over to the Van Buren County Prosecutors Office for charges, with warrants being sought on multiple suspects.
It is not currently known how many suspects are being charged. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
