BARRY COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two suspects have been arrested in connection to almost 60 vehicle break ins across two counties.
Police say that 19-year-old Emil Skokin of Kalamazoo and a 17-year-old suspect are accused of the crimes, which include around 35 car break-ins across Hastings and about 24 in Allegan.
Police say the pair used low-caliber firearms to shoot out windows of vehicles in a seemingly random fashion.
Security camera footage was able to identify the vehicle and get a description of the suspects, which led to a short chase ending with the suspects’ arrests.
The vehicle was also stolen out of Kalamazoo Township and was full of stolen property.
Both suspects face several charges including felony firearm possession and resisting arrest.
