ALBION, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Investigators are looking into an Amtrak Train pedestrian strike in Albion on Saturday evening.
It happened around 7:25 p.m. when the westbound train bound for Chicago came into contact with a person on the tracks near Eire Street. As a result, the train stopped it’s route.
Kimberly Woods with Amtrak Media Relations said the Wolverine Train 355 continued its journey three hours later.
65 customers were on the train when it came into contact with the person, and they remained on the train for their safety.
She said no customers or staff were injured. She did not release information on the status of the person who was hit.
Wolverine Train 354 was put on a 45-minute delay, as of 10:20 p.m. because train 355 was in its path east of Battle Creek.
